We are ready to be back on stage with our Summer Musical Theater Camp. Here are all of the facts you need to know to have a fun summer doing theater again!
Placement Day: Sunday, June 26th. This is the day we hold in-house auditions to see where cast members will audition to see what roles they will be performing in our production of High School Musical On Stage. All registered campers will be cast unless program capacity has been exceeded. Placement Day allows us to determine their roles in the production. Summer Musical Camp classes run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm (additional pre-camp and post-camp hours will be made available for an additional fee. See information below.) Lead roles may be called to extra rehearsal times on certain Fridays. Classes begin on Tuesday, June 28th and run through July 28th. Classes will focus on vocals, dance and acting as we prepare for our live performances at Barrington High School August 4 through 7. Tech Week begins on August 1st and runs each day from 10 am to 3 pm through August 3rd at Barrington High School.
Schaumburg On Stage is open to students 8 to 18 years of age. Tuition is $450 which includes basic costume pieces. Some costumes pieces will be self-provided. Each year we are approached by high school students wishing to be in our shows but cannot committ to three full days a week because of summer school and work committments. Don't rule participation out; contact us at info@schaumburgonstage.org and together we can determine whether or not participation in our program is right for you.
Cast members will need to bring a sack lunch and small snacks each day as well as a water bottle. Snacks and water bottles will be offered for sale daily, and we offer pizza for sale during Summer Camp each Wednesday for an additional fee.
Extended summer camp hours for cast members 8 to 15 years old will be offered to those cast members who need to arrive early or leave later because of transportation availability. Morning extended camp will be from 9 am to 10 am, and afternoon extended camp will be from 3 pm to 4 pm. A minimum of 5 participants for each hour is required to support this program. Students will engage in free time and simple instruction on dance or acting. Cost for extended care is $5 per hour in addition to the regular summer camp tuition. You can chose extended care for any numberr of days per week, but you must be consistent throughout the duration of summer camp.
As always, no cast member is ever denied particpation due the inabiltiy to pay. To apply for a financial aid scholarship, fill out our online financial aid application.
